How to migrate Exchange 2010 mailboxes to Office 365?

To perform migration from Exchange 2010 mailboxes to Office 365, follow the below steps

Add a Project and Job for your migration.
Provide the Source Exchange 2010 details like Exchange domain name, username, password, etc.
Select the Exchange mailboxes for migration.
Now, provide the target Office 365 login details.
Apply filters like Message Classes, Date Range, Folder, etc.
Perform mapping (automatic or using CSV) between the source and target mailboxes.
Use options like Manage bad items and synchronization, Notification settings, Report console, Migration job scheduling, etc.
View the summary and start the migration.

Can Exchange Migrator export my mailboxes from Exchange Server 2010 Standard to PST file?

Yes. Besides complex migration tasks, this tool can backup Exchange/Office 365 mailboxes. To export Exchange Server 2010 to PST, create a Backup Project and run a Backup job. For dedicated Exchange/Office 365 backup & PST import (without recovery or migration), consider using Kernel Exchange Backup & Restore.

Can you guide me in preparing for the migration project?

You can prepare for the migration by utilizing the software's Pre-migration Analysis feature. Ensure you have the Source and Target credentials with you. This feature assists in estimating the time needed to complete the migration.

Is public folder migration possible with the tool?

This Exchange hybrid migration tool migrates public folders from Exchange and Office 365. The user must create a Public Folder Migration job in their migration Project.

Is public folder migration possible between on-premises Exchange SBS 2003 and Office 365?

Not many migration software support Exchange SBS 2003, but the tool supports it. Exchange Online migration can access the public folder data from Exchange 2003 and migrate to Office 365.

Can this tool migrate Public Folders from Exchange 2010 to Office 365?

Yes. The tool supports migrating Public Folders from Exchange 2010 to Office 365. You can create a job for public folder migration and run this job to migrate public folders from Exchange 2010 to Office 365.

While using this software, is it possible to execute the migration on specific days only?

Yes, it is possible. While scheduling the migration, the Kernel Migration for Exchange allows you to allow or deny migration on specified weekdays.

I have a client that hosts their emails on Office 365, and they want me to export one of their mailboxes to a PST file. Do you have a product that can do this for me?

Yes, it can fulfill your need (though it is designed for complex Office 365/ Exchange to Exchange Online migration). It can directly access the mailboxes from your client’s Office 365 account and save them to the PST file. For specialized Office 365/Exchange backup or PST import, consider trying Kernel Office 365 Backup & Restore.

Does Kernel Exchange Migration software support auto-mapping of the source and destination mailboxes?

The Software provides different mapping options like Map automatically, Map using CSV, etc., using which users can automatically map mailboxes.

Does the tool delete/modify anything from the source server?

No. It lets you migrate everything from the Source server (including mailbox rules and permissions) to the Target server. It ensures that no data is deleted or modified on the Source server during the process.

Does it support migration to Hosted Exchange?

Yes, it does. The solution allows migration to hosted Exchange Server from on-premises Exchange Server and Office 365.

How can I map mailboxes if I am unable to find them in the target server list?

If the mailbox with the same name is unavailable in the target server, select the source mailbox and map it with another mailbox in the target. Alternatively, create a new mailbox in the target using the "Create Mailbox" option in the tool.

Can I migrate mailboxes within the same domain server?

Yes, you can migrate user mailboxes and public folders from one Exchange to another Exchange Server within the same forest/domain using the Exchange Migrator tool. However, the intra-forest migration is possible from Exchange 2003 to 2007/2010, and similarly, you can read the other Exchange mailbox migration deployment scenarios.

Can I perform the direct Migration from Exchange 2003 to 2013?

Unfortunately, you cannot directly migrate from Exchange Server 2003 to Exchange Server 2013 within the same forest, as Microsoft does not support coexistence between the two versions. It is Microsoft’s limitation. However, you can perform cross-forest migrations from Exchange 2003 to Exchange 2013 using the Exchange Migration tool.

Can the tool migrate items between servers with different language characters?

Yes, the tool supports Exchange mailbox migration of various languages and characters, including English, German, Spanish, and Italian. It ensures the seamless migration of special language characters without any data loss.

Can I migrate shared mailboxes using this tool?

Yes, you can also migrate shared mailboxes using Exchange migration tool.
